Builder gel

ES: Builder gelDE: Builder Gel

Builder gel is a versatile UV/LED curable gel product specifically designed to add strength, length, and shape to natural nails. It's a thicker, more viscous gel used for creating nail extensions, overlaying natural nails for added durability, or repairing damaged nails. After proper nail preparation and a base coat application, builder gel is applied onto the natural nail or over a nail form/tip. It's sculpted with a brush to achieve the desired architecture and then cured under a UV or LED lamp, which hardens it into a strong, rigid structure. Once cured, it's filed to refine the shape and finished with a top coat for shine and protection. You'd opt for builder gel when you want to extend your nail length, significantly strengthen weak nails, or create a durable overlay. It's a fantastic alternative to acrylics if you prefer an odorless application and a product that offers more flexibility than traditional hard gels, making it less prone to shattering. Compared to polygel, which is thicker and worked with slip solution, builder gel is more self-leveling, offering an easier application for some. While a rubber base is ideal for short natural nail overlays and minor leveling, builder gel provides superior structural integrity for longer enhancements. A common mistake is applying the gel too thick, which can lead to an intense heat spike during curing. To avoid this discomfort and ensure proper curing, apply builder gel in thinner, controlled layers, building up the desired shape gradually.
