Monomer is the crucial liquid component in acrylic nail systems, often referred to simply as "acrylic liquid." It's a specialized chemical that, when combined with acrylic polymer powder, initiates a polymerization reaction to form a moldable bead that air-dries into a strong, durable nail enhancement. The process begins when you dip your brush into the monomer and then touch it to the polymer powder. The monomer molecules "activate" the polymer, creating a soft, pliable bead. This bead is then applied and sculpted onto the natural nail or a nail tip. As the monomer evaporates and the polymer molecules cross-link, the mixture hardens, forming a robust and long-lasting acrylic nail.
